Sr. Rose Miller, OLVM




SISTER ROSE MILLER, OLVM, 88, a resident of Saint Anne Community at Victory Noll, Huntington, Indiana, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.


Sister Rose was born in Flasher, North Dakota on January 31, 1934, to John Miller and Eiprosina (Ternes) Miller. Sister Rose is preceded in death by three brothers, Stally Miller, Pius Miller and Leo Miller; and four sisters, Lydia Torkelson, Legotda Miller, Agnes Makelky and Edvina Fredrickson.

Surviving Sister Rose is one sister, Ann Leingan; her nieces and nephews, and her Victory Noll Sisters, with whom she shared life and community for 70 years.


Sr. Rose entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on September 15, 1952, and made first vows on August 5, 1955. She served in the states of Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada,

California, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Minnesota, and Arizona. Sr. Rose was a social worker and she served as the Director of the St. Elizabeth's Clinic for six years in Tucson, Arizona. After leaving St. Elizabeth's Clinic she worked as a social worker in several Tucson hospitals before returning to Victory Noll in 2015.


Due to ongoing restrictions, services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, for the Sisters only. If you would like to participate via livestream, please email victorynoll@olvm.org to request the livestream link.


Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, IN.


McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN, is in charge of arrangements.
