Sisters at Victory Noll sent cards to their Senators, on November 21st, urging them to support Senate Resolution 404 to keep the U.S. in the Paris Climate Agreement. This action was rooted in our belief that the Earth and all Creation is One, a Gift from our loving God. We further believe that international cooperation is crucial in addressing the world-wide climate crisis that threatens all life forms on planet Earth. Since the mid 1990's Victory Noll Sisters have made an intentional commitment to care for the Earth. This commitment has become even more urgent today as we grow in understanding of our mutual dependency as an integral part with all living creatures of Earth, Our Common Home.
At this time when we are focused in a special way on the Incarnation, Pope Francis' Encyclical, Laudato Si, gives us much to ponder.
In the Christian understanding of the world, the destiny of all creation is bound up with the mystery of Christ, present from the beginning.... One Person of the Trinity entered into the created cosmos, throwing in his lot with it, even to the cross. From the beginning of the world, but particularly through the incarnation, the mystery of Christ is at work in a hidden manner in the natural world as a whole... # 99, Laudato Si
The Son (of God), his reflection, through whom all things were created, united himself to this earth when he was formed in the womb of Mary.
#238, Laudato Si
And so we sing out "...the Wonders of God's Love" and wish you all a Merry Christmas!
