SISTER LUCY MARIE VEGA, OLVM, 95, died at Saint Anne Community at Victory Noll, in Huntington, Indiana, on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Sister Lucy Marie was born in Mason City, Iowa, on August 16, 1924, to Leon Vega and Maria Perez Vega. She had eight brothers and two sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Louis, Jesus Estevan, Daniel, Raymond, Philip, her sister Rufina Sanchez and her adopted siblings, Albert Chavez, and Mary Chavez Sanchez. She is survived by her two brothers, Peter Vega of Mason City, Iowa, Raul Vega of Whittier, California, many nieces and nephews and her Victory Noll sisters with whom she shared life and community for 64 years. Sister Lucy Marie entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on January 6, 1955, and made first vows on August 5, 1957. Her first mission was in Lubbock, Texas. She served in the missions in several other towns in Texas before serving in Ohio, Arizona, and Wyoming. She also served in the community at Victory Noll in various capacities, including, as Coordinator and of the local community and administrator of Holy Family Health Center. In 1997, she became the Archivist, a position she held until 2008. Sister Lucy Marie was also the first director of the Victory Noll Center. A Vigil Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday August 26, 2019, with calling one hour prior to the service from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Bishop Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W Park Drive. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, with calling one hour prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Bishop Noll Memorial Chapel.
